“(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson senior Ted Hinnenkamp (York, Pa./York Suburban) has been named a preseason All-American by the Sporting News while the Red Devil men’s basketball team earned a top-25 national ranking from D3hoops.com, opening at #21 on the preseason poll.

Hinnenkamp enters his senior season looking to cap a brilliant career as a Red Devil. The York Suburban product has played a key role in the success of the men’s basketball program as Dickinson has advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship in each of his three seasons, claiming the coveted title in 2013 and 2015.

Hinnenkamp was a Second-team All-Conference selection in 2015, ranking in the top 10 in the conference in scoring, rebounding and assists. Playing virtually every position on the floor, Hinnenkamp was a staple of consistency, leading the conference in shooting percentage at a remarkable 62.1 percent for the season. That marked the second-highest single-season mark in program history while currently placing him at the top of the career list as he enters his senior campaign.

Hinnenkamp averaged 12.9 points per game last season, led the team in assists (82) and ranked second in rebounding with 177 on the year. He has shot over 60 percent from the field in each of his first three seasons, shooting over 76 percent from the free throw line.

The Red Devils have enjoyed great success during Hinnenkamp’s career, advancing the NCAA Tournament’s “Elite Eight” in 2014 and the “Sweet 16” last season. Dickinson has posted 20-win seasons in each of the past three years, setting the school record for wins in both 2013-14 and 2014-15.

The Red Devils open the 2015-16 season on Saturday, November 14th, hosting Cabrini College at 7:00 pm.”
